Brenda Forsythe, DVM, and her husband Jerry Beatty just returned from the USEF Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet in Lexington, Kentucky. Brenda and the 5 year-old Andalusian mare she has raised, trained, and ridden, Mediterraneo's Venezia, have been honored with several USEF awards for 2016, two of which she received in person at the USEF ceremony.  Venezia was honored as the 2016 Horse of the Year National Champion Andalusian Junior Horse in Western Pleasure and the National Reserve Champion Andalusian Junior Horse in English Pleasure.  Additionally, Venezia has also won the USEF Silver Stirrup Zone 10 (California & Nevada)Champion award in Training Level Dressage.

Ellen Corob and her students Jerry Beatty and Brenda Forsythe attended the Dressage Association of Southern California (DASC) Awards Banquet at the Moorpark Country Club in Moorpark, California on the evening of January 15th.  Several SLO-CDS chapter members were honored with awards at the event.  In addition to several other awards, Ellen Corob was honored with the DASC Reserve Champion Arabian Year End Breed Award with HR Maverick.  Jerry Beatty and Waverly were honored with the DASC Champion Belgian Warmblood Year End Breed Award.  Brenda Forsythe and Mediterraneo's Venezia were honored as the DASC Intro Level Year End High Point Champions.  Ellen also accepted the 4th Level Freestyle Reserve Champion award for Cindy Ramirez-Smith and Decoroso HGF.
